Kaffe Fassett Knit Along Week 7; Stagger

Another week, another design. Find the pattern here! And the wool is here!

Still enjoying experimenting with different ways of dealing with all those different strands of wool at the same time! Mostly to avoid as much sewing in ends as I possibly can… For the first square of this design, I dragged one strand along to the next section, long enough for it not to start pulling but then as I started my second square, something very obvious dawned on me. Why don’t I keep twisting the strands as I go along, much as you do when you’re changing the colour?

See the difference! The left looks much better, don’t you think?! And I don’t even think this should eat too much yarn either. Otherwise, I would be left with a little end to weave in. Now, that end is simply twisted along to move to the next colour-block.

Have you guys ever had any ‘DUH’ moments whilst knitting or crocheting? A moment where you just think of this technique and wonder why it had taken you so long to think of it? Let me know in the comments on our Facebook and who knows, maybe you’ll help create that lightbulb moment for someone else!
